My 8 year old son, CJ, auditioned and got the part of Michael Banks in our local community theatre's production of Mary Poppins. I volunteered to help with props. Below, I painted 11 vases to be used in the scene where George Banks breaks the "heirloom vase."
I also painted the backdrop to the magical flowers that Bert hands over to Mary in one of the last scenes of the play. Fake flowers were inserted into the inverted shadowbox. From a distance it looks like a painting...that is until Bert pulls the fake flowers out of the shadow box!
Lastly, I whittled a parrot head for Mary Poppins's umbrella.
